HCI International 2016, the 18th International Conference on Human-Computer Interaction, was held in Toronto, Canada, 17 - 22 July 2016, under the auspices of 15 distinguished international boards of 391 Board Members from 41 countries.
HCI International 2016 and the Thematic Areas / Affiliated Conferences explored a wide variety of hot topics which reflect and contribute to a paradigm shift towards ubiquitous interaction, intelligent environments and interactive technologies supporting virtually any aspect of human life and activities in a global and social perspective.
The 27-volume Conference Proceedings are published by Springer in the Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS), Lecture Notes in Artificial Intelligence (LNAI) and Communications in Computer and Information Science (CCIS) series, and are available on-line through the SpringerLink Digital Library, readily accessible by all subscribing libraries around the world.
More than 1.800 people from 64 countries registered to participate in HCI International 2016, a truly international in scope event, where the work of the world’s foremost leaders in the field was presented. In 219 sessions, 1.232 papers were presented and 194 posters were displayed. Jennifer J. Preece, Professor & Dean Emerita of the University of Maryland, College Park, USA, has joined us as the keynote speaker at the opening plenary session, during which sixteen awards were conferred.
Fifteen awards, in the form of a plaque and a certificate, were given to the best papers in each Thematic Area / Affiliated Conference. The Best Poster also received an award and a certificate.
